{"id":8216602,"date":"2016-09-24T08:18:00","date_gmt":"2016-09-24T08:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/update-broke-installation\/"},"modified":"2016-09-24T08:18:00","modified_gmt":"2016-09-24T08:18:00","slug":"update-broke-installation","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/update-broke-installation\/","title":{"rendered":"Update broke installation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>I just applied the last update to shop isle theme and WordPress broke, giving me an error code 500 when trying to access the back- or the front-end.<\/p>\n<p>A brief debugging revealed that I got four instances of the same error (&#8220;Can&#8217;t use method return value in write context&#8221;) in lines 301, 414 , 603 and 678 of template-frontpage.php.<br \/>\nI commented out the four IF blocks (all related to woocommerce, which I have not installed) and it works, but this is bad practice.
