{"id":6530659,"date":"2015-09-10T10:10:20","date_gmt":"2015-09-10T10:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/w3-total-cache-default-settings-are-in-use-error\/"},"modified":"2016-08-30T17:50:15","modified_gmt":"2016-08-30T17:50:15","slug":"w3-total-cache-default-settings-are-in-use-error","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/w3-total-cache-default-settings-are-in-use-error\/","title":{"rendered":"&#039;W3 Total Cache: Default settings are in use&#039; error"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have a multisite setup.<\/p>\n<p>In the site network I&#8217;ve gone to:<br \/>\nPerformance &gt; General Settings &gt; Miscellaneous<\/p>\n<p>Then unchecked &#8216;Use single network configuration file for all sites.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve then gone to my main site and can see all the options under &#8216;performance&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>When I go to the performance dashboard I get this error:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>W3 Total Cache: Default settings are in use. The configuration file could not be read or doesn&#8217;t exist. Please save the settings to create the file.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ve clicked &#8216;save the settings&#8217; and get this:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Are you sure you want to do this?<br \/>\nPlease try again.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I can&#8217;t get passed it.<\/p>\n<p>These are the things I&#8217;ve tried to start afresh:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Uninstalled the plugin and delete the plugin files<\/li>\n<li>Deleted the &#8216;w3tc-config&#8217; and &#8216;cache&#8217; folders<\/li>\n<li>Run &#8220;SELECT * FROM <code>kv5zet1n_options<\/code> WHERE <code>option_name<\/code> LIKE &#8216;%W3%&#8217; &#8221; in phpMyAdmin and deleted the database entries<\/li>\n<li>Reinstalled the plugin<\/li>\n<p>The same thing happens.<br \/>\nMy first thought is a permissions problem, but I&#8217;m on a Windows LAMP so not sure what it could be.<\/ul>\n<p>https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/w3-total-cache\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-6530659","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/6530659","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/6530659\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=6530659"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
