Is its parent directory writable by the server?<\/p>\n<p>Someone else set up this WordPress site for me to play around with, so I might need to go to her if she needs to change permissions.  <\/p>\n<p>I did go to settings, media and tried checking and unchecking the box about organizing uploads into month and year based folders.
