Hi everyone,<\/p>\n
I’m bringing a regurgitated subject to the table. I’m having trouble updating to the latest version of WordPress. When I try doing it through the site it says “”Could not copy files. Installation failed.” without giving any specifics. I noticed a lot of the threads mention media files, or specific parts of the site that caused this message, but mine doesn’t.<\/p>\n
I changed the permission for wp-content to 777 but that did nothing, and I am super weary about doing anything else because 1. I am clueless when it comes to all this & 2. I’ve made small changes in the past to things on WordPress and it has cost me too much time and energy.<\/p>\n
If someone can help talk me through it in digestible talk I would be much obliged. I’m really poor at WordPress, and will be unbelievably happy once this site is sorted.<\/p>\n
