Our site has had the Briefed theme (from Woo) for many months with the home page configured for a slider based on featured posts. Today, it stopped working with no changes (manually or that we know of) to the site. This morning, the slider was up and running; this evening, there is a placeholder for the slider with no content. Just blank background and non-functional next and previous arrows.<\/p>\n
I tried disabling the slider from the theme settings with the intention of reenabling to possible “reset” the slider. However, disabling did not even remove the placeholder slider. (I did reload the page in case of browser caching.)<\/p>\n
The plug-ins say they are all up to date, and I did not find any issues listed on the Woo site (my search was brief). <\/p>\n
The Jetpack page of the WordPress Dashboard did say “welcome to JP 2.7” or some such (sure wish they’d date those notices and they would not disappear after you viewed the message).<\/p>\n
I’m at a loss as to the cause and would appreciate any suggestions.
