{"id":410196,"date":"2006-06-26T19:25:24","date_gmt":"2006-06-26T19:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/couldnt-write-to-wp-contentcachewp-cache\/"},"modified":"2016-08-18T21:38:41","modified_gmt":"2016-08-18T21:38:41","slug":"couldnt-write-to-wp-contentcachewp-cache","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/couldnt-write-to-wp-contentcachewp-cache\/","title":{"rendered":"Couldn&#8217;t write to: .\/wp-content\/cache\/wp-cache-&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello,<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve just moved a wordpress blog from one FreeBSD server to another using the instructions here:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/codex.wordpress.org\/Moving_WordPress<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m getting this error:<\/p>\n<p>Couldn&#8217;t write to: Couldn&#8217;t write to: .\/wp-content\/cache\/wp-cache-3ee5a8899bacb37e214a3f7eaba4f8c9.html<\/p>\n<p>I looked at this thread:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/67035?replies=15<\/p>\n<p>But I didn&#8217;t understand how the issue was resolved, and it doesn&#8217;t seem to apply to my issue as I&#8217;m installing on BSD.<\/p>\n<p>I have searched through the support archives and on the web, and I haven&#8217;t been able to find an answer.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the steps I took in moving the blog:<\/p>\n<p>. exported db using instructions from wp site<br \/>\n. saved backup as status.qsl in c:\\temp<br \/>\n. zipped up &#8216;status&#8217; dir in site to status.tgz<br \/>\n. changed owner of status.tgz to [myuser:mygroup]<br \/>\n. moved backup to status.before-uri-change.tgz<br \/>\n. went into Administration &gt; Options &gt; General panel and changed WordPress address (URI) and Blog address(URI): to new site<br \/>\n. clicked save options and got redirected to new site<br \/>\n. archived status dir as status.tgz<br \/>\n. restored site from status.before-uri-change.tgz<br \/>\n. copied status.tgz to new site<br \/>\n. extracted status folder at new site in apps folder<br \/>\n. modified wp-config.php to use correct db connection settings<br \/>\n. renamed wp-content\/cache to wp-content\/cache.bak<br \/>\n. created new folder &#8216;cache&#8217; in wp-content<br \/>\n. uploaded db backup status.sql to new site<br \/>\n. copied status.sql backup in new site to status.sql.bak<br \/>\n. replaced all instances of old URL with new URL in db export<br \/>\n. dropped all tables from target db to prepare for injection of migrated data<br \/>\n. perl -pi -e &#8216;s#DEFAULT CHARSET\\=latin1##&#8217; status.sql to remove default charset entries in db<br \/>\n. perl -pi -e &#8216;s#ENGINE\\=MyISAM##&#8217; status.sql to remove &#8216;engine&#8217; entries from db<br \/>\n. imported tables into database using mysql command line client<br \/>\n. followed instructions in https:\/\/codex.wordpress.org\/Changing_File_Permissions to set permissions to 777 for wp-content directory<br \/>\n. set permissions to 666 for .htaccess in main wp directory<\/p>\n<p>Can someone please help me to find out how to fix this?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-410196","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-cache","topic-tag-move"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/410196","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/410196\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=410196"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
