After the transfer I had to update some items and plugins, but was able to login to the control panel ok. I have checked the setting and the site is pointed the the correct domain. The problem is that the home page displays a blank page. If I go to the domain base name ie: www.domainname.com the page is blank. However if I add a specific page to the base domain name ie: www.domainname.com\/about it displays properly. I have also tried creating a static home page and setting the home page to static in WordPress, but it still does the same thing unless I enter www.domainname.com\/home and then the static home page is displayed ok.
