My WordPress blog was working fine this morning. Then when I tried to publish a post I got the following message:<\/p>\n
Can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t select database Are you sure it exists? A few minutes later, I was able to get back into the site and had no problem posting or viewing my site. http:\/\/www.thebinarycircumstance.com.<\/p>\n Since around 11AM (It’s 5:12pm now) I’ve only gotten that message. Readers have e-mailed me to say they’re getting it too.<\/p>\n When I go into phpMyAdmin, it says that I have “no databases.” It must have been there this morning because I was posting to it.<\/p>\n My host, Dreamhost, says they can see the database just fine on their screen. I think this has got to be a host problem. \nWe were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the bicirc_blog database.<\/p>\n
\nOn some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem? <\/strong><\/p>\n
