Finally I found the Quick Find &amp; Replace plugin, which provides exactly the kind of functionality I&#8217;ve been looking for: the ability to find individual occurrences of words or phrases and replace them selectively, rather than making global replacements that I can&#8217;t see or control on an individual case by case basis as I can do with the book manuscript in Word and Sigil. Quick Find &amp; Replace is straightforward, intuitive, and extremely useful for careful proofreading and editorial work within any given block of text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Initially, the plugin worked beautifully in ordinary WordPress pages but wasn&#8217;t appearing in my Daily Lessons editor, where I needed it most. I contacted the developer, Tommy Hansen, who responded amazingly quickly and personably and provided a simple PHP snippet that enabled the plugin for my custom post type.
