{"id":19029471,"date":"2026-09-25T15:33:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T15:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/woocommerce-issue-with-elementor-4-3-2\/"},"modified":"2026-09-25T15:33:24","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T15:33:24","slug":"woocommerce-issue-with-elementor-4-3-2","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/woocommerce-issue-with-elementor-4-3-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Woocommerce Issue with Elementor 4.3.2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hi,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have encountered what appears to be a compatibility\/regression issue with Elementor 4.3.2 on a WooCommerce site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The site was working normally previously, with the last confirmed online order placed successfully on 23 September. Elementor was subsequently updated to 4.3.2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Symptoms with Elementor 4.3.2:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>WooCommerce checkout remains permanently stuck on the loading\/spinning overlay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cart functionality is affected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Hootix\/Xootix side cart stops functioning and its floating cart icon disappears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some WooCommerce product pages have significant layout\/rendering problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Elementor editor fails to open.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While investigating the checkout issue, I inspected the WooCommerce <code>?wc-ajax=update_order_review<\/code> request. The request completes with HTTP 200 and WooCommerce generates a successful response, but the response is malformed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of beginning with the expected JSON, Elementor-generated CSS is output before it. In our case there were approximately 850 lines of <code>&lt;style&gt;<\/code> output relating to Elementor templates before the JSON eventually began with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><code>{\"result\":\"success\",\"messages\":\"\",\"reload\":false,\"fragments\":{...}}<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This appears to prevent WooCommerce from parsing the AJAX response correctly and leaves the checkout loading overlay in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I initially suspected ElementsKit because the CSS related to our ElementsKit header\/footer templates. However, rolling ElementsKit Lite back to 4.0.2 made no difference. Disabling Elementor (which also disables ElementsKit) immediately restored the WooCommerce functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I then rolled <strong>Elementor back from 4.3.2 to 4.2.4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This immediately resolved all of the above issues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>WooCommerce cart and checkout work correctly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment section\/Opayo loads correctly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Product page layouts are restored.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hootix\/Xootix side cart and floating icon work again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <code>update_order_review<\/code> response is clean JSON again, with no Elementor CSS\/HTML preceding it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, after rolling back to 4.2.4 the response correctly begins:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><code>{\"result\":\"success\",\"messages\":\"\",\"reload\":false,\"fragments\":{...}}<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The successful response also contains the expected WooCommerce checkout and payment fragments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Environment\/components involved:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Elementor 4.3.2 \u2013 issue present<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elementor 4.2.4 \u2013 issue resolved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>WooCommerce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ElementsKit Lite (used for header\/footer)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Xootix\/Hootix side cart<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opayo\/SagePay WooCommerce payment gateway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This appears similar to other reports of Elementor 4.x causing problems when WooCommerce is active, although in our case there is a particularly clear issue with Elementor output being injected before the WooCommerce AJAX JSON.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please let me know if you would like any additional debugging information, the complete <code>update_order_review<\/code> responses from 4.3.2 and 4.2.4, or further environment\/version details.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-19029471","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/19029471","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/19029471\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19029471"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
