{"id":19028321,"date":"2026-09-24T13:12:23","date_gmt":"2026-09-24T13:12:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/error-paypal-rejected-the-sandbox-credentials\/"},"modified":"2026-09-24T13:12:23","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T13:12:23","slug":"error-paypal-rejected-the-sandbox-credentials","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/error-paypal-rejected-the-sandbox-credentials\/","title":{"rendered":"Error &#8211; &#8220;Paypal rejected the sandbox credentials&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In case it&#8217;s of any help to other users, following the Eventprime release yesterday I started to see the error message &#8220;Paypal rejected the sandbox credentials&#8221; as a floating red banner which appears after a customer has checked out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The payment HAS in fact been taken, which just adds to the confusion for the Customer as they often then re-try the transaction, meaning follow up emails and refunds (with the loss of processing fees).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It looks like a recurrence of the issue I flagged in a previous thread &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/paypal-payment-fails-but-payment-is-taken\/\">https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/paypal-payment-fails-but-payment-is-taken\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TLDR&#8230; Looks like the release on 23rd Sept changed the \u201cPayPal Sandbox Mode\u201d to ENABLED.
