{"id":19024501,"date":"2026-09-20T10:01:05","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T10:01:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/xmlrpc-connection-error-2\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T10:01:05","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T10:01:05","slug":"xmlrpc-connection-error-2","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/xmlrpc-connection-error-2\/","title":{"rendered":"xmlrpc connection error"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jetpack was reporting that WordPress.com requests to <code>xmlrpc.php<\/code> were blocked with HTTP 403.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our host, 20i, adjusted its security configuration and has confirmed from HAProxy logs that repeated Jetpack XML-RPC requests and <code>wordpress.com connection\/test-wpcom<\/code> requests now return HTTP 200, with no 403 responses. Cloudflare is also not blocking or challenging these requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We disconnected the complete Jetpack site connection and successfully reconnected it using the same WordPress.com account. The Jetpack warning banner then disappeared, but WordPress Site Health still reports the previous 403 connection error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The official Jetpack Debug Tool continues to return only \u201cUnknown error\u201d, including after the successful reconnection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Site URL: <code>https:\/\/colliercatchpole.co.uk<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Could you check the WordPress.com side of the connection and identify why the Debug Tool and Site Health test are still failing despite the successful connection and HTTP 200 responses?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-19024501","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/19024501","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/19024501\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19024501"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
