{"id":19012037,"date":"2026-09-04T20:38:22","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T20:38:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/custom-fallback-text-in-emails-for-galleries-that-require-javascript\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T20:38:22","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T20:38:22","slug":"custom-fallback-text-in-emails-for-galleries-that-require-javascript","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/custom-fallback-text-in-emails-for-galleries-that-require-javascript\/","title":{"rendered":"Custom fallback text in emails for galleries that require JavaScript"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hi all,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have a small personal blog, and I use the default Jetpack newsletter module to send my posts to subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This week I published a post that includes a slideshow gallery (<code><\/code>), and I noticed that the email shows a fallback text &#8220;the slideshow requires JavaScript&#8221; (since my settings are in Spanish, it shows up as &#8220;El pase de diapositivas requiere JavaScript.&#8221;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m trying to find a way to customize that fallback text so it&#8217;s a bit friendlier. Not just to match the tone of my writing, but because my subscribers (ie my mom) have no idea what that means.
