{"id":19007115,"date":"2026-08-31T06:42:40","date_gmt":"2026-08-31T06:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/tax-calculation-14\/"},"modified":"2026-08-31T06:42:40","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T06:42:40","slug":"tax-calculation-14","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/tax-calculation-14\/","title":{"rendered":"Tax Calculation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hi,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have a question about how tax is calculated in relation to coupon discounts and wallet payments on an order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, the calculation order seems to be:<br \/>(Item price \u2212 Discount) \u00d7 1.10 (tax) \u2212 Wallet amount<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What I need instead is:<br \/>(Item price \u2212 Discount \u2212 Wallet amount) \u00d7 1.10 (tax)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, I want the discount and the wallet amount to both be subtracted from the item price before the 10% tax is applied, rather than having the wallet amount subtracted after tax is calculated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I noticed there&#8217;s a setting called &#8220;Tax Calculation Mode&#8221; with two options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>&#8220;Wallet pays for goods only; tax is calculated on the order&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;Wallet pays for the entire order including tax&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Does switching between these two options change the order of operations (i.e., whether the wallet amount is deducted before or after tax is calculated), or does it only affect how the wallet-paid portion is recorded for tax\/accounting purposes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If this setting does not control the calculation order I described above, is there a filter\/hook (or any supported way) to make the wallet amount get subtracted together with the discount before tax is calculated, instead of after?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you for your help.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-19007115","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/19007115","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/19007115\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19007115"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
