We have identified the exact root cause of severe server crashes when editing posts in the Classic Editor, backed by our server access logs.<\/p>\n
Issue Summary:
\nWhen opening any post edit screen (wp-admin\/post.php), Shortcodes Ultimate attempts to load SVG icons for its UI (\/wp-content\/plugins\/shortcodes-ultimate\/admin\/images\/shortcodes\/svgs\/). However, the asset URLs are being recursively URL-encoded (e.g., %252525252525…), leading to malformed URLs.<\/p>\n
Impact & Log Evidence:<\/p>\n
Each corrupted SVG request triggers a 301 Moved Permanently redirect back to the post edit URL.<\/p>\n
This creates an infinite HTTP request loop for dozens of SVG files simultaneously upon opening the editor.<\/p>\n
The resulting request storm instantly exhausts server CPU, RAM, and PHP worker processes, bringing down the entire website.<\/p>\n
