{"id":18826748,"date":"2026-02-19T06:32:31","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T06:32:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/wordpress-create-block-error\/"},"modified":"2026-02-19T06:32:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T06:32:31","slug":"wordpress-create-block-error","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/wordpress-create-block-error\/","title":{"rendered":"wordpress\/create-block ERROR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I keep getting the same error and the dependencies fail to install:<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">npm error code E404<br \/>npm error 404 Not Found &#8211; GET https:\/\/registry.npmjs.org\/@wordpress%2fvips &#8211; Not found<br \/>npm error 404<br \/>npm error 404 The requested resource &#8216;@wordpress\/vips@^1.0.0-prerelease&#8217; could not be found or you do not have permission to access it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When trying to use either the <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>npx @wordpress\/create-block@latest<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>npm install @wordpress\/scripts --save-dev<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I made sure to use the latest LTS (Long Term Support) version of Node.js. This is on Mac.
