{"id":18671770,"date":"2025-10-07T16:27:37","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T16:27:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/export-82\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T16:27:37","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T16:27:37","slug":"export-82","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/export-82\/","title":{"rendered":"Export"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Friends of the Trap Grounds in Oxford UK (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trap-grounds.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.trap-grounds.org.uk\/<\/a>), a Nature Reserve near the centre of Oxford run by volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the website was initially developed some years ago, and still ongoing, members and the public submit sightings of special things seen during a Trap Grounds visit via our Sightings web-page. This was adapted from the Guestbook plug-in (presumably the wp_comments file).&nbsp; We now have close on 1000 entries. To try and manage this list more sensibly, and also to enable the sightings to be analysed for research, I had hoped to export the observations file, clean it up, and make it available as searchable text to researchers and others by creating a document grouping the sighting content by date of post.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using the Export facility in&nbsp;Guestbook, I have downloaded and edited a file but find that the <em>datetime <\/em>column associated with the download is a string of undecipherable digits (presumably an address link to a separate database).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I then tried using the&nbsp;<em>WP Import Export Lite&nbsp;<\/em>plug-in, but when I try access the comments database, it says there are 0 files found, probably because the Guestbook database has a different title not recognised by the export plug-in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would appreciate any suggestions that could resolve the problem of including the timings&nbsp; alongside the observations in an exported Guestbook csv file.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-18671770","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/18671770","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/18671770\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=18671770"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
