{"id":18394469,"date":"2025-04-01T20:12:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-01T20:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/paypal-button-when-clicked-just-opens-a-window-and-closes\/"},"modified":"2025-04-01T20:12:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-01T20:12:21","slug":"paypal-button-when-clicked-just-opens-a-window-and-closes","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/paypal-button-when-clicked-just-opens-a-window-and-closes\/","title":{"rendered":"paypal button , when clicked just opens a window and closes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WordPress website , hosted by IONOS , no server cache used by IONOS and NO WP-CONTENT\/cache folder <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">i have a couple of days of issues with paying via paypal on a wordpress website &#8211; following updates <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Issue seems to have started following various updates &#8211; paypal payments  &#8211; i uninstalled and went back to version 3 using FTP &#8211; still issues eventually deactivited a plugin and that all suddenly worked <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So I updated paypal payments to v3.01 and had the same problem  &#8211; and not been able to fix &#8211; any help please I&#8217;m now lost<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you add a product to the basket and checkout &#8211; then you have the paypal or card payment buttons &#8211; clicking on the paypal button &#8211; it opens a pop-up window and then just closes &#8211; rather than open paypal login page <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The card payment should open a form below the button &#8211; and that does nothing <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Same on chrome, firefox, safari, iphone chrome and safari browsers and a different PC <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">so i have gone back to paypal payments version 2.9.6 from an old backup 26th Feb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have deactivated pretty much all plugin &#8211; and just left Woocommerce \/ woocommerce_paypal_payments \/ Total core plugin for the Theme = TOTAL \/ Ajax search \/ limit login attemps \/ really simple security for SSL<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had updated the theme = total and reached out to the developer on how to roll back <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">if i loginto WP-ADMIN on a tab for the wordpress site &#8211; and then on another tab open my website fenori.co.uk &#8211; i can order and pay by paypal works fine . and i can also open the card payment form &#8211; so not sure why that would be , and maybe something may indicate what the issue may<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">any help really appreciated &#8211; thanks <\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-18394469","topic","type-topic","status-publish","hentry"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/18394469","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/18394469\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=18394469"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
