{"id":18084623,"date":"2024-10-20T23:16:32","date_gmt":"2024-10-20T23:16:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/?post_type=topic&#038;p=18084623"},"modified":"2024-10-21T05:50:15","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T05:50:15","slug":"free-version-too-limited-and-annoying","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/free-version-too-limited-and-annoying\/","title":{"rendered":"Free version too limited and annoying"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had hoped to find a simple plugin that&#8217;d show an input field when selecting the featured image or maybe a tab and then search for images in Unsplash or other sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It didn&#8217;t work like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, after installing it and clicking away all the &#8220;BUY PRO&#8221; or &#8220;GIVE ME 5 STARS&#8221; notifications on the Dashboard, I couldn&#8217;t intuitively find a way to actually use this plugin. In my opinion, plugins should be made in a way that it doesn&#8217;t need any description and can be used intuitively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The plugin&#8217;s settings page made it clear that the free version is more or less useless. Most features, including the core ones, aren&#8217;t available (i.imgur.com\/0p8Zk8s.png) unless I pay for them. I don&#8217;t mind developers making money with their plugins, but this just goes too far. This also goes for the constant CTA to rate this plugin, which I&#8217;m doing right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to that, the settings page is ugly, and the code behind it is probably not the best either. When saving something, I receive dozens of &#8220;Settings saved&#8221; notifications (i.imgur.com\/Pw3rDYi.png).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I wish I could say anything positive about this plugin, but I did not find anything.
