{"id":1530043,"date":"2010-06-10T15:24:33","date_gmt":"2010-06-10T15:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/force_ssl_admin\/"},"modified":"2016-08-19T18:13:04","modified_gmt":"2016-08-19T18:13:04","slug":"force_ssl_admin","status":"closed","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/force_ssl_admin\/","title":{"rendered":"FORCE_SSL_ADMIN\/LOGIN not working?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>i burned a few cycles on this issue, and just resolved it, so i thought i&#8217;d share.<\/p>\n<p>i added:<\/p>\n<p>define(&#8216;FORCE_SSL_ADMIN&#8217;, true);<\/p>\n<p>to wp-config.php<\/p>\n<p>i verified that:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/me.com\/wp-login.php<\/p>\n<p>works correctly,<\/p>\n<p>but wp was not automatically going to the https:\/\/me.com\/wp-login.php for logins.<\/p>\n<p>i goog-ed around and couldn&#8217;t find similar complaints.<\/p>\n<p>after some head scratching, on a lark, i moved the line:<\/p>\n<p>define(&#8216;FORCE_SSL_ADMIN&#8217;);<\/p>\n<p>from the bottom of wp-config.php to the top and lo-and-behold it started working.<\/p>\n<p>so beware, the line placement order !!! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>happy pressing!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-1530043","topic","type-topic","status-closed","hentry","topic-tag-force_ssl_admin","topic-tag-ssl"],"jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/1530043","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topic"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topic\/1530043\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1530043"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
