{"id":11288460,"date":"2019-03-07T23:27:15","date_gmt":"2019-03-07T23:27:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/directory-location\/"},"modified":"2019-03-08T11:24:03","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T11:24:03","slug":"directory-location","status":"publish","type":"topic","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/topic\/directory-location\/","title":{"rendered":"Directory location"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just need a bit of help and advice please.<br \/>\nI had an old website (created on old web design software) running perfectly on my hosting and to get to it users typed<br \/>\nhttps:\/\/xxxxxx.co.uk\/<\/p>\n<p>I then decided to create a new WordPress site and installed WordPress in a sub directory TempDir so I could develop it and let the client see the work so far.<br \/>\nhttps:\/\/xxxxxx.co.uk\/TempDir\/<\/p>\n<p>I then deleted all the old files and pointed to the https:\/\/xxxxxx.co.uk\/TempDir\/ and it has gone live and is working ok.<\/p>\n<p>I simply added a re-direct on my hosting from www.xxxxxx.co.uk to https:\/\/xxxxxx.co.uk\/TempDir\/<\/p>\n<p>Is there any way back to the root directory or do I just leave it as it is?<\/p>\n<p>Of course I should have asked the question before I did all of this but any help would be appreciated.
