This is a nice-looking theme with some theme options for the free theme, but few of the ones most people want, such as changing colours, fonts etc., so to do any real customisation you need to buy the theme or create your own CSS. There's no custom CSS panel in the theme options.
The theme comes integrated with some plugins - Meta Slider, Page Builder and support for WooCommerce. You don't have to use the first or third, but it seems clear from my own experience (though my support questions on the subject went unanswered) that the theme is so heavily integrated with Page Builder that if you don't like or want to use that plugin, then this theme is going to cause problems.
Page Builder is an optional installation and Site Origin don't actually say you need it, but not using it causes layout problems with my sidebars and I suspect the way it's integrated into the theme is also the reason Responsive Gallery Grid doesn't work.
If you like Page Builder (and use another gallery plugin), then none of this matters, but if, like me, you prefer not to use that plugin, then you'd be better off looking at another theme.
I spent a lot of time customizing this theme, and it looks good, but the live site is extremely slow to load, even the admin panel. I have looked at other site running this theme, and they seem to load slow also. I think its the Meta slider plugin. Will probably switch to another theme
First, Thank you Greg for the good work on this theme. Very well done. I searched for hours for a WP theme that is both responsive and image slider capable. Every theme that I tried had a snag of some sort. For example, only three images are allowed on the slider unless you buy the upgrade. Other themes were too complicated and just confusing to try to use. All the time I invested in my search was worth it since I found Vantage. All the best,
Very nice free theme but clutters the dashboard up with extras and distractions.
Adds extras in admin side bar such as "Premium Upgrade" which is not that bad but, ever time I go to settings a blue bar appears at top of my admin area asking me to signup to a newsletter. Dismiss it and appears next time / next tab.
If you are in need of a response menu, says you need to upgrade to "Premium"... Same with "Social Functions", premium...
Understand lots of time goes into theme development, but like to see the author tell it up front and if you want a fully functional theme, it cost.
Now honestly, $15 to upgrade looks like a steal but I feel forced into it if I want a responsive menu...
The theme looks beautiful, just love it. I built photoworldindia.com using that theme.
