one of the main strength of this theme is that it is a departure from the minimal light bandwagon that we have seen in the past. its one of the few default themes that is not inspired by a bond paper with horizontal lines (2012 default theme yup thats it heheh)
another strength is somehow it managed to pull in featured content functionality that was put in place in the by the core which is sadly still is laying suspension after all the years wordpress became open source.
over-all a very impressive release by the core. the only downside is how the css was coded. to output mainly 3 basic colors and few columns the css code fosters a gazillion of outputted css classes names all through out the code which actually can be combined. by simply examining it css code its like a tug of war between building it from the bottom up and reverse. in order to traverse tame the css code and visual appearance of the theme. one should be proficient in css which is a minus point for a lot of wordpress users
but all in all the over-all appearance and functionality of this theme is still one of the best so far that the core had
Hello to everybody. This is one of those themes along with the Eleven and Tweleve that comes along with our brand new WordPress instalations.
The users who have experience on that content manager, what we do is keep one of them on the back just in case our main theme crash.
I must say, those are really smooth yet simple themes, I saw many cases of people keeping the Twenty Twelve theme as the main one, and creating great content and drive lots of traffic. Thats what happened for long time to one of my websites (cafeteras express) and although now I use a premium one, the Twenty Twelve has been amazing, smooth and responsive.
So I'm giving those 4 stars for functionallity, backup and also great theme. Just because is so common doesn't mean we cannot use it. I'll keep my 5th start just for a backup as well, since I use it for taste, and although we can edit it is not like the cuttest around we will agree :)
Great theme, only missing default options to change colors and fonts.
I had used this Theme in other version of my site, than you can visit hear and it was working well.
After a time I purchased other Theme because I was looking for more other type of sales, but I have to say that this Theme is easy and looks well.
In my opinion 4 stars...
This is the first theme that came when installing wordpress and I am haven’t had the need to move from it. It has a simple design which is very appealing to the eye, and it is also responsive.
I am quite a big fan of the twenty themes and this is probably more visually pleasant than the previous ones so it is one of the themes I am using in my last tech resources sites (recuperar archivos), although navigation with is two menu sections can be a bit confusing.
Developers are doing a good job with Twenty themes.
I think TwentyFourteen is a good theme specially for magazine-oriented blogs, I am using it in my tech blog Discos Duros and I am quite happy with it. The design is neat and simplistic which is good to improve its usability. I like its double menu (vertical and horizontal) option which gives a lot of configuration possibilities as well as the three widget areas. The post/page layout could be wider but in general is a very user-friendly theme, so I recommend it.

I finally stuck to Twenty Fourteen and was able to build a very professional looking website using just the plain theme as it is without any customization capabilities as I used the free theme on wordpress.com looked so good.
I started off with a new business of trainings and wanted to build a professional looking website. I have a strong eye for design and have strong techie background but I have no knowledge of programming using css, html etc. To build my site, I tried almost all the free templates that looked good in the wordpress.com domain. I finally stuck to Twenty Fourteen and was able to build a very professional looking website using just the plain theme as it is without any customization capabilities as I used the free theme on wordpress.com . The site looked so good, I got my first order for website development for a startup company !!! :) You can look at my 2014 based site here [ link redacted, please do not post links in reviews. ]
This is my new entry into website building and in future 2014 would be remembered for giving me unexpected business opportunity. I have now moved to wordpress.org from wordpress.com for my website customer.
Instead of giving 5, I give it 4 for some of the limitations like margins around pages which I could not change. But it has added 5+ value to me.
