Visually pleasant free theme
By , for WP 4.0

This is the first theme that came when installing wordpress and I am haven’t had the need to move from it. It has a simple design which is very appealing to the eye, and it is also responsive.
I am quite a big fan of the twenty themes and this is probably more visually pleasant than the previous ones so it is one of the themes I am using in my last tech resources sites (recuperar archivos), although navigation with is two menu sections can be a bit confusing.
Developers are doing a good job with Twenty themes.

Vertical Menus?
By , for WP 4.0

I tried it when it was first released while ago. I just wanted to say this is not great theme, and I am not a fan of vertical menus at all. I thought, very ugly theme. Forced sidebars even on full width or no full width. Can't really remember, but I think there was no full width option.

I am sorry, but I went for a premium theme over all these free themes. I could not find a theme out of all the free themes that worked good enough not to just spend hours trying to do DIYO customization without headaches. All the free themes, and even the ones that come default with WordPress are terrible.

I love using WordPress, but it because of the premium themes are awesome. WordPress is awesome with them premium themes. Very user friendly CSM blog platform. At least compared to drupal (ugly), and hard to use Joomla.

What's new on version 1.2?
By ,

I have built my website "chromex64.com" with this theme, and I have customized with some changes, now it tells me to update but I didn't build a child theme. I want to know what's new on version 1.2 so I can decide whether I should update it or not.

We like this theme, maybe the right sidebar is too robust.Easy to customize and good for seo too. Emma.

Great to start if not customizing

Great design and layout but difficult to customize.

Not so good and very messy

Very messy theme. The forced "side bar" is the worst. If this is the default theme for the WordPress, it should be more clean and more simple with some good simple options as a starting point for developers for example?

Good responsive theme for magazine-styled blogs
By , for WP 3.9.1

I think TwentyFourteen is a good theme specially for magazine-oriented blogs, I am using it in my tech blog Discos Duros and I am quite happy with it. The design is neat and simplistic which is good to improve its usability. I like its double menu (vertical and horizontal) option which gives a lot of configuration possibilities as well as the three widget areas. The post/page layout could be wider but in general is a very user-friendly theme, so I recommend it.

Menu Bar Hierarchy
By , for WP 3.9.1

I love the overall outlook of TwentyFourteen. Currently, I am stuck at editing the background colour of menu bar hierarchy. Pelase advise. Thank you.
