I am using this theme for a year now (i think). And i think the looks are just great. it has just the right look for what i needed for the site. I made myself a few minor changes to the code, but it wasn't really needed.
Just see the resutl (site is in dutch): [moderated]
I am still using an older version of this theme: V2.1 because of the changes i made to the code.
Every since this theme has been updated to the latest version the overall appearance has changed. I have 2 websites, both with this theme and the width of the template is way off. Can't seem to see a code anywhere to change it. Any suggestions? I've contacted the author several times but have not received a response.
I purchased this theme but unfortunately couldn't get it to work. i contacted Eric Schwarz for support and was told that this theme was "glitchy", and to check if it was activated. I checked... it was. So asked my questions, and I'm still waiting for a response as to how to fix these "glitches".
Sadly I only found out about this theme having glitches after I purchased it. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use this theme if I cannot get any support.
Waste of money.
I am not an experienced blogger or IT whizz. I spent a long time playing with different themes on my blog but could not get them looking as good as the example (including Twenty Fourteen). I am really pleased with the outcome with minimal effort on my travel/teaching blog (www.teachoff.com). I particularly like the clever newspaper style, layout, fonts and ability to show photos. You can put a background photo without it interfering with the text in the blog as there is a plain underlay beneath where the blogs are. It is also easy to change the header photo unlike on many other themes I tried. My blog looks equally good now on a phone as on a computer. The only issue I've found is blog titles not appearing whole on the home page. Perhaps a ... would indicate that it is not the complete title. Thanks very much for creating this awesome theme!
Excellent design by the author. This theme deserves a five-star. There is only one problem, the titles don't appear as whole if they are longer than 5-6 words.
This is a great theme which I am using for a photography site at http://www.notquitefree.co.uk. It's simple to use, works well, looks great and Eric (theme creator) gives it great support.
Semper Fi's being used for a tattoo artist's portfolio and blog and while it has a certain simplicity about it, the background image function "makes" the theme. Widgets at the bottom are clean and getting the "full" version is well worth it.
Best part of the theme is the creator who always responds in depth and is receptive to new ideas. Definitely looks like we'll be using this for a long long time.
