I like the vertical menu very much. It distinguishes the theme from the rest and gives it a unique look and feel.
I have not experienced a theme that has a great set of basic options. Eliminating the need of some plugins and fulfilling the desire for more flexibility with typography, colors, menus, and more. Explore menus and widgets before you hunt for plugins.
Just add a couple of sticky posts with richly colored photos and a simple main menu = instant homepage. Oh yeah, add a couple of pics in boxes = bam! done! Deluxe homepage. It's the first time I have been able to duplicate the sample theme appearance (it was easy!).
I have a couple of other sites. I love working with this theme: smart options easy to find, does not get wonky/break up even with a bunch of plugins. Excellent consistent results. I can quickly duplicate the basics of the site - appearance and functions. I use it again and again.
It is elegant - not arrogant. A little vacant/sparse looking, at least on tablets, which could be remedied perhaps with a slightly heavier font - I don't feel like taking the chance and messing it up. It is very robust at the backend.
Suggestion: One thing I think it needs to maintain a balanced look is an auto-generating sub nav. A widget that uses the same font as the site. I have quite a few pages and love keeping the main nav top-level and clean. I did it with a plugin, after many unsuccessful ones. It just works so well with the layout.
Dev take a look: I have just started, no content, several pages to create, but do check the 'Language' then 'Grammar' pages for the sub nav experience. It is not perfect, but very helpful. Not the breadcrumbs.
Outstanding! Thank you.
I signed up with themehybrid to get your help. I paid the $29. And the account is STILL pending AND you still havent answered my questions which I sent politely via email. Im going to post my questions here now:
I want my website to look exactly like your demo looks and when i downloaded your theme it obviously doesnt look that way. (Yes I am new to all of this.) I even tried downloading your child theme but to no avail. What I would like to know is how can I produce an exact replica of the Demo you have of the Ascetica theme? The biggest thing missing on my website after downloading your theme is the 3 images you have at the top left and the line of 6 thumbnails near the bottom of the page under the page numbers. Please could you help me implement these items using as laymen terms as you can. Thanks I would really appreciate it.
I left out the compliments because Im annoyed at this point that I havent received any feedback to help me out.
This is a cool, minimalist theme but the developer is not interested in telling you how to use it unless you pay for support. Pity, it would have made a great free theme. Unfortunately it's just not the quality of most themes that cost $. This isn't a slam against the theme, just pointing out that the developer has decided to monetize this theme in an unusual way, probably because nobody would pay for it otherwise.
Subtle and quite well designed theme.
Chrome doesn't display "Subsidiary" widget correctly and another pay for support provider.
This theme is very easy to use, it's simply wonderful. Very aestethic and 'zen'.
