I emailed them at email@example.com and posted a support thread.
The support thread got no replies after more than a month. The email got a couple replies then he gave up and became unprofessionally unresponsive leaving the issue unsolved. If you can't do it or want to give up, ok it's your choice, but you can at least keep it professional and admit it instead of disappearing.
Go install some other polls plugin.
I had this plugin for years, had thousands of poll votes, now they all disappeared like the developer and have to find a new plugin and restart all votes from 0.
How can you tell us it is compatible up to 4.5 version when your plugin uses add_object_page() function instead of add_menu_page() ?
seemed like it was working at first, but noticed I couldn't save any page or post after install. Took a lot of work just to uninstall this plugin to test if it was the source of the problem. After about 20 minutes I managed to get rid of it and all of its files and wouldn't you know it, I could save posts again.
Conflicts happen, and it isn't enough reason to give 1-star, but going out of your way to code in a mysterious series of events that need to happen just to disable and remove the plugin is shady enough to get 1-star.
I suggest looking elsewhere
dont work options.
For some reason, the authors of this plugin made the dumb decision to add a random number to the end of the class names that changes every time you reload the page, so it's impossible to style with CSS!
This makes the plugin completely useless.
Biggest load of SPAM I have ever downloaded. Installed and activated the app and key pages in the backend went blank/white - such as the 'installed plugins' page and others - basically any page that you could look at removing the plugin. So I had to log into an FTP client and change the name of the plugin folder to stop it working so that it would deactivate, so I could then delete the app. Went to delete the app and a clever bit of programming selected all the plugins on actioning this and asked me if I wanted to delete all. So again I went to the FTP client to remove the plugin folder. My advice, don't download!
The plug-in error is probably a result of a conflict with another plug-in as I can see from the reviews that most people get it working. After I installed and activated this plug-in, my website no longer showed any content on either the front or the back-end (wp-admin pages). I had to go in through ftp and rename the folder to deactivate it, and I then uninstalled the plug-in.
Please take my review for what it is: One person's experience, and since it did not even work, I could not give it any other rating.
However, I also acknowledge the time that programmers put into developing these plugins, and as there are soooo many wordpress plugins I can see how conflicts like this can easily happen.
Generally, when I look for plugins, I look at the one-star ratings and base my decision on the developer's responses. If they engage, then they care. And were I to rate this plugin on that criteria, the developer of YOP would receive a much higher rating.
Should really consider simplicity! May be full of options but too much just to get a simple poll up! uninstalled!
The plugin only allows a one question poll unless you upgrade for $17.
Installation went fine but for example the widget is not coded to WordPress standards. Font sizes are quite different. Poll width is only 200 Pixels where as it should be auto to the parent container.
Thankfully it does remove its database entries on uninstall and there are quite a few of them for such a simple application.
Conceptually its not bad, however in practice of attempting use it the plugin is near useless. Perhaps it was written long before recent versions of WordPress.
The whole idea of WordPress is not to be constrained. If the plugin adhered to very simply standards (styling should always be nothing essentially or at least optional) it might be good, not $17 good but good.
It is also nagware constantly popping up a window with a modal box talking about the Pro Version. Funny that the Modal actually looks better than the plugin.
