Great Plugin
By , for WP 4.2.2

This Plugin does everything you need straight out of the box and free.
Although the extra statistics you can get by using the Paid version are definatly worth the extra.

The reports are easy to create and deliver imediatly or on a scheduled time (When people expect)

The only criticism is that I would have liked the Subscribe option to be in the meta data table so that I could reference it in other plugins and ask users if they would like to subscribe in the user Member Plugin that I am using

Incredibly Solid Free Product

Integrates nicely with MailChimp. Easy to configure simple newsletters, and a very responsive support team via email. What's not to like at that price? I've used it for a couple of different blogs, very happy with it.

Best for mail.

Great Newsletter Plugin

I have been using MailPoet for a while now and I am very happy. It is easy to use and has a lot of great features. I have recommended it to a lot of my friends.

What a MailChimp alternative!
By , for WP 4.2.1

I've been using MP about 3 months, on three sites. Not only is just about everything a quick learn, it's easy enough to teach it to clients. I don't send an enormous volume of mail, which is probably the case for most of us starting lists, and it seems like all the functionality available is exactly the stuff I need—no fluff.

That you can easily pull in automated posts (and custom post types!), and send featured images is a huge, wonderful plus.

My only complaints:

  • It took emailing MP support to find the Lists page (links to it are hiding at the top of the Subscribers page). Push those to the plugin menu, and it'll be much more consistent with other WP experiences.
  • List and subscriber management is a little convoluted. Adding a Quick Edit option to both might speed it up/make some settings easier to find.

Other than that… well, suffice to say MailChimp is on its way out of my workflow. MC has the advantage of being its own platform (and so platform-independent), meaning if I ever decided to leave WP, it'd be easy to keep working. But were that to happen, what's a little export/import?

MailPoet Version 2.6.15 - Works well and is recommended
By , for WP 4.2.1

We tried several other "email generators" and have settled on MailPoet. We like the feature set, all of which work as described. The only trouble we're having is getting the cron job to launch with the free version of MailPoet. Haven't tried really hard - maybe thirty minutes of effort. Still the plugin is highly recommended.

Good extension but...

Sincerely, 79€ per year is expensive if it's just to increase number of subscribers. For an association, with just little more than 2000 subscribers, it's not possible. Yes, I know, it's "only" 6.6€ per month but in addition to lot of other paid services...

Good newsletter plugin

This is a great newsletter plugin and it's really easy to put professional looking newsletters together. It does have automatic newsletter functionality (aka autoresponders) - would be even better if it could interface with the s2member plugin :)

Great Plugin

Very impressed with this plugin, the only function needed to give it a 5 star rating, is a drop-down menu for subscription lists.

Great functionality
By , for WP 4.1.1

It’s easy to use out of the box. If you dig into it all the great functionality asserts itself.
The only improvement for me would be more versatile theming options.
