After a nightmare day Yesterday testing new themes to replace our trusty Twenty Ten https://wordpress.org/support/topic/why-is-there-no-responsive-replacement-for-twenty-ten we decided to look for a plug in. wptouch was the only mobile/desktop switcher listed on the front page of the most popular plugins and we simply had to download and enable it - absolutely brilliant! We had worried our hard-coded text wrapping etc would be a problem but no. OK, the rendering is not perfect, but 90% perfect and Google says now our site is 100% mobile friendly, no ranking penalties.
This is a free plug-in and it works well.
Today is the day everyone is freaking out about how Google changed it's code and everyone's website will be messed up. I checked - we are fine. Why? This great plugin. I never have to worry about it. The website always looks like I expect it to look.
will not do was is stated.. please look around this is a worthless product
Great plugin! Works great! Easy setup and configuration!
But they basically blackmail you to purchase the Pro version for $59 if you're a webmaster that uses Google AdSense.
At first, I thought it was working okay for one of my sites (a little inconsistent but not that big).
Then it slowly, hour by hour started producing the mobile page on regular computer browsers (Chrome, FireFox, and IE). My requests for support on their forum were ignored.
They have a paid option, but the inconsistency in the plugin and them ignoring me prevent me from having the confidence in them to take a risk with my money.
I should have paid attention to the other reviews that said the same thing.
I use this on my own sites and those I administer. The pro version is worth the money for the extra features (had it on one site for a couple of years until we recoded it). But don't let that fool you. The free version is robust and definitely a keeper. Thank you for a great plugin.
The plug-in shows only my sidebar... but the "support" here is full of unanswered questions so I'm not expecting any help.
I won't buy the pro version because I have 20 blogs so that's $200 and no way to know if it works.
Here's the problem: HUGE waste of time trying this out. WP Touch Mobile: fail.
It was just what I needed to make Google and viewers happy.
