Font Awesome Icons and more in the visual editor with filter-search and rich content editing at your fingertips
What I really like about this plugin is that it does not use shortcodes but HTML. That's great because if you use shortcodes and you have to disable the plugin in the future, you will get the ugly shortcode there in the middle of your content. That's why I NEVER use any plugin shortcodes in my posts.
This plugin, on the other hand, adds the icons HTML. That means that it's future proof: if you had to disable the plugin one day, the icons would simply disappear without a trace. And if you added again Font Awesome support via functions.php or another plugin, the icons would appear again (because the HTML stayed in the content all the time).
I really hope this plugin gets updated, since it's the only Font Awesome plugin I want to use.
Simple to use with both the visual and text editor. Low overhead that provides a simple, clean graphic for visual interest and content type emphasis.
I get no visual reference but instead just codes in the dropdown menu. When I choose on there no icon on the page, the only thing I get is just the code txt. "></i> fa-envelope
Super easy to use and you can use it to call in the icons via your theme css by using a :before or :after element with a content attribute and the Unicode.
Great plugin, you saved me lots of time and it makes it easy for any user to use. I look forward to more plugins from this user. Good job!
Awesome plugin for Font Awesome fonts - and it supports Font Awesome v4.0 which is a big bonus!
However, the styles are not included in the right way at the front end: why you use wp_head?
add_action ('wp_enqueue_scripts', 'wp_v_icon_frontend_styles');
Thanks so much, exactly what I need. Makes it so easy for clients to use :)
I very seldom post a review but... this plugin really is 'awesome' and is ridiculously simple to use.
