Had issues getting the plugin to work because of issues with my hosting company. Their support team (of the plugin) went above and beyond to get this plugin working for me.
Thanks again guys.
This plugin is perfect, had some issues with it at first which the support team fixed in no time and took the time to explain how I should import my files.
Managed to successfully import Woocommerce products and variations! Good work Smackcoders and thanks!
I required a plugin to import thousands of products into e-commerce. This plugin did the job!
Any questions I had support was very responsive and answered all my questions and helped me troubleshoot within one day.
bought a copy of this plugin as you can't try it before that. could'nt get my money back when it didn't work, and even after prooving that their plugin was the issue, they refused to refund.
i tracked down the owner of the business who was polite and said he would look after it, and then he vanished. took my money and kept it the dirty dog of a man.
so what was wrong: (firstly this plugin is an illegal copy of wp all importer pro which is a far better and less buggy plugin)
issue #1: turns out it uses ioncube, which means you can only use one domain on our wordpress install. i was using multiple. they have a mac address licence to fix this, however that is useless in shared hosting or many other situations
issue #2: the plugin runs on every page and post of your site, even when it's not importing. that means that ioncube runs on every page of your site. this caused major issues with our site and when we asked them to fix, they denied that running a backend plugin on every page of a site locked down as a problem for performance. omg.
issue #3: we use pods framework and the importer seemed to import properly, then one of the columns half way through the import put the same records in over and over and over, but only for one or two rows (and they were standard wp fields) they didn't fix this bug either in the 2 months i fought with them.
so after 2 days asked for a refund. they said no because they wanted to troubleshoot. i informed them of our issues, and they offered a mac licence, but refused to fix their software so that it did not run on every page of the site.
i did a dispute with paypal they lied to paypal saying i didn't ask for a refund within 15 days (even though i have email from them with my request in their reply - dirty thugs) they also said that they offered me a mac address based licence, which didn't fix the two other major issues that stopped it working for me (but no mention of those)
use all import is a far more mature solution, and they heard of my troubles and offered me a free copy as many have been tricked into this sub-par product, a 'bad' copy of all import.
This plugin makes a lot of very promising statements, but it doesn't deliver and appears bugged. First, it wouldn't activate because it wanted a PHP setting (PDO) that was already activated. When it wouldn't activate, I deleted it through the link provided by WP. It deleted, but then used up so many processes that it crashed my new server with 64GB RAM. Appalling. Don't use it! Don't even try!
Like some of the reviewers, I initially had some trouble installing the plugin due to compatibility issues with my host. However, once I submitted a ticket to Smackcoders they sent me a new, fully licensed install for my host's version of PHP (and Ion Cube).
Once installed properly, the plugin worked exactly as I had hoped. I am working on a data-driven website for a research institute. The client will need to create external CSVs for import on a yearly basis. So this plugin will be invaluable in making that process easy and seamless.
Doesn't work. Support is only willing to help if I allow them to login to my server, which is a an unacceptable security risk.
A helpful plugin, Choose this plugin to do the imports to WordPress.
Do not spend your $$ on pro. Customer service sucks. Been waiting weeks for account activation. Asked for my money back and got a "go &$@# yourself".
I purchased the Pro version in a rush as I needed to migrate Advanced Custom Fields data on a rush project. I understood from the website that the product would work on unlimited domains. When it asked for a preferred domain, I used my own website domain. When I tried to install the product on the client's domain, the product would not activate because it did not match my own domain.
I went back to one of the four emails sent from Smackcoders when I purchased the product it mentioned needing to submit other domains so I went to the account I created.
While you can install on unlimited sites, you cannot immediately license a site. I received the following in an email from their help desk:
Which domain you want install into our plugin. Please mention the domain name and also your phpinfo link. We will provide the new license
Sending a link to a phpinfo file to a stranger is frankly absurd and a huge security risk. Further when I went back this morning to read reviews of product, I came across the following response to another person who has a similar opinion of the product:
We should take this further to all channels and levels with all proof we got against your claiming note that may have sensitive information's also, if not responded.
Any developer who would threaten to expose sensitive information about a client should be avoided. I am currently seeking a full refund from PayPal and will be using another product to accomplish the task at hand.
