Reduce image file sizes, improve performance and boost your SEO using the free WPMU DEV WordPress Smush API.
I absolutely love how this strips the metadata out of photos I upload to my site. Nobody needs to see the location data but me. :)
Page request times became so slow we had to deactivate
This plugin is great EXCEPT it caused a long delay (10+ seconds) when loading 2 of our websites. We now deactivate Smush.it except when adding images. If we miss some images we temporarily activate Smush.it and do a bulk smush.
Thanks for the plugin and to reduce our efforts
A very good and efficient plugin.
Thank you very much for your work.
I tried it on two sites - works only there where the little images. If got a lot of pictures - plugin dies.
Great plugin. It shames it doesn't do large files sizes above 1 Meg, but I know that is the fault of Smuth.it not the plugin.
just installed it and it works so simple, love it
I really like this plugin. My suggestion for future development would be to allow the bulk smush.it feature to target specific directories on your server. This way you could optimize every image in your theme folder, uploads folder, and even plugins folder... Maybe a simple form field that allows you to type in the server path to the folder you want to optimize images in.
Seems like a much needed feature. Especially for users that want to optimize every image reported by Google PageSpeed. So hard to satisfy but so satisfying to see your score go up!
Thanks again for all the hard work. 5 Stars!
Installing their plugins and use them at your own peril, as soon as you have one you get a message asking to also activate their dashboard.
The scary thing is there is no way of getting rid of this message unless you deactivate all of the plugins that you have installed, sadly their plugins are top notch but come with this malware.
If you don't install their dashboard plugin then this message will just keep bugging you until you do switch it on and then you get spammed even more to purchase more of their products.
Please wmpudev crew give your customers the option of switching this rubbish warning off!!
