Good Plugin

The plugin worked well on my site.

My site is:

I prefer EWWW
By , for WP 3.9.2

I just tried WP Smush.it and it feels a bit rough around the edges. Bulk optimizing is a shot in the dark. I got no indicator that told me when the optimization was done, instead my site "crashed" or more accurately went temporarily unavailable. Which is fine by me, but there are other plugins that do a better job than this.

The Smush.it service by Yahoo is limited to only smushing images that are smaller than 1mb, this is pretty terrible. This is not the plug-in's fault, so don't come blaming them for this.

If you're looking for a good image optimizer, try EWWW instead. While EWWW is not perfect either, it does not come with Yahoo's limiations (other than your host's own limitations) and it'll tell you how it's progressing through your images.

It is the best plugin of its kind that I have found.
Thank you very much!

It used to work, but now i can't upload images
By , for WP 3.9.1

I've tried using WP 3.7.3 and WP 3.9.1 and it is impossible to upload an image correctly. Some images are created, others aren't. It is like somthing is causing the upload process to take so long that it fails.
As soon I disabled the plugin I was able to upload photos.
Enable it, and you won't be able to upload photos that can be USED or selected. Images can be find at the Uploads folder but they just cant be used don't know why.

Needs an update!

Yahoo's side of this needs to be double-checked
By , for WP 3.9.1

The plugin and all of its features worked just fine on my site: it's well-executed and lacked any of the kludginess you often see with WP plugins.

Yahoo's dithering algorithm negated the plugins usefulness to me: on bulk conversions the dithering was uneven so I had to double-check each picture and re-upload the ones that were over-dithered.

I think that if you're using the "Save for Web" feature in Photoshop - and you're using it correctly - you're more at risk of damaging your uploaded photos than seeing any page-rendering speed benefit.

Waste of time.
