Reduce image file sizes, improve performance and boost your SEO using the free WPMU DEV WordPress Smush API.
All of the image optimization plugin is garbage!
Never purchase the pro version..
Sorry SmushIt. Had to deactivate. It was messing up image loader.
this services is simply way too slow. often not working at all.
My site, Omunchi.com, is up to date.
I have been working on lowering my load time. I have installed and use BWP Minify, WP3 Total Cache, and Cloudflare for my CDN. I installed WP Smush. It to compress my images, as recommended on many sites. Unfortunately it crashed my site repeatedly while I was trying to compress the old images. I tried moving them to my testing server, but I received errors and it didn't work. Then, I thought that I would keep Smush. It live on my site for new images, but it crashed it again.
I have removed it.
I wish it would have worked but it did not.
Tried on 4 different sites. Continue to get 404 error for just trying to use on one image that's only 450kb.
If you want to upload a gallery in a timely manner, don't use this plugin. I had to uninstall it to be able to upload images.
Use to work; been using it for a few years then it started not allowing me to upload more than one image at a time . . . thought bad connection . . . overloaded server . . . no big.
But it continued to the point of not even being able to create a post because I could not upload any image without trying it a bunch of times.
The other day . . . I wasted almost an entire day (8 hours) just trying all the troubleshooting things I found on the web and forums and nothing worked.
Then I came across a post about "Yahoo" handed the program off to WPMUdev and they thought it was going to be so . . . much better now.
Well . . . it's not so much better; it completely sucks.
I understand . . . it's free . . . but I don't think a lot of people understand what it is doing . . . it is processing data "NOT" on my server but theirs . . . that means resources . . . and how much resources can anyone devote to something that is FREE . . . at some point there is going to be a bottle neck.
Looking for a new solution now
