The leading web analytics plugin for WordPress
I've tried Piwik, but it was so brutally slow for me that I needed to fall back to 3dr party analytics until I found this little jewel.
Nice, structured, full fledged analytics for small sites, with good enough accuracy and since it's totally self-hosted, privacy is not at risk for visitors either.

Promising plugin. But...
I purchased the add-ons. But the Custom DB did not work, despite following the setup steps.
Also, once users are blacklisted, then I could not remove them. Could change the settings, save, and was confirmed saved without the blacklisting. But then the usernames appeared again.
Same problem for the link with the Custom DB.
Was incompatible with Mashshare and with the LiveView of Wordfence.
Ended-up crashing SQL Services on the VPS due to php overload, forcing a 20min downtime for reboot.
Careful: their website mention that they do not refund any purchase (even if they could actually revoke the license keys).
Pure loss of time and money...
I have to know the facts of various access thanks to this plug-in.
When we switched our system from selfmade to wordpress we searched for a good statistic plugin which is easy to use and - very important - is updated quite frequently (there are so many out-dated plugins out there).
We decided to use Slimstat because the support seemed to be fast (from what we saw in the forum), the updates are frequent and the plugin itself is nice and easy to use.
Slimstat works as expected and when we needed some support, we got an answer and a solution(!) as fast as lighting.
Thanks for that!

I have used Slimstat every day for several years now to track who is coming to my site and what they read. Once they give their name in a comment , or by signing my guest book, their name show up in my Real Time Stats. This is important to me to see what they have read so I can help the more in the future.
But two weeks ago something happened and my Slimtsat plugin stopped working. It was then that I realized how important this plugin is to me.
Today, my new best friend at Slimsat gave some of his time to work with me and got it working. :)
Thanks so much Jay!
This plugin is very useful and propose lots of features ! I really recommend it. Also, the support is reactive and help you to answer your questions :)
I had some issues with the previous version because I'm running WordPress on a Windows Server, but the support team saw really awesome and managed to resolve every single problem.
Also the plugin is fantastic!
I stuck with this plugin for a long time because in many ways it is awesome. The problem is that there have been a few instances in which some of my client's website have come down (often the white screen of death) and sometimes after exhaustive troubleshooting I discover that Slimstat was culprit. It got to the point that when a website came down or had weird, but significant problems, one of the first items on my troubleshooting list was to disable and or delete Slimstat. When that resolved the issue often enough, albeit not always, I knew it was time to go. As a freelance webdesigner, I am incredibly busy and I am now actively minimizing recurring time-suck problems in favor of excellent solutions that work out-of-the box consistently well. I switched to Statcounter and I even have clients who like it. I could never show Slimstat analytics to clients, as much as I wanted to, because it was too techy for them. Gotta admit - it's hard to give this one a low rating.
