Just wanted to thank the author for coming back to this plugin and sprucing things up finally! Been using this for years but lack of updates had me forked for a long time. Came back and found the latest updates fixed all the bugs that bothered me and now I figured out all the theme-template-override solutions to avoid having to hack the core plugin.
Simple and useful solution for making ugly but usable print version of your posts. Definitely worth considering.
I was expecting a complicated use as usual...just read 'Installation', it is very simple!
Exactly what I needed. Love the ability to put the templates and CSS in theme folder to avoid overwrites. (though I think putting it in uploads avoids confusion when switching themes down the road). Either way, it's fantastic to be able to write my own template. Thanks, Lester!
Well done. Will recommend.
The key to using this plug-in is to look at the FAQ. It tells you how to modify your templates so that the print link shows up. The problem, though, is that when the maker of your theme updates the theme, you will lose your template modifications.
It would be nice if the Print link would open the printable version in a new tab/window.
The introduction of this tool impacted my permalinks temporarily. I resolved this by simply going into Permalinks and clicking 'Save Changes'.
I have used this plugin more than once and I would like to add, it works fantastically and I have used it with Font-Awesome too.
Das einzige Print Plugin welches auch Kommentare drucken können sollte (wenn ich die Option "Print Comments?" richtig verstehe) funktioniert leider überhaupt nicht!
Es zeigt sich kein ICON, kein Linktext. egal was man einstellt
This plugin doesn't have a ton of options and might be a bit tricky to customize for those with no understanding of coding, but if you don't need too much customization (and you probably don't), it does the job it claims to do well.
Awesome - couldn't figure out how to make work at first.
I looked in my theme and couldn't find the code they said to look for.
But I have the Black Studio TinyMCE Widget so in text tab
I added the short code [print_link] in that widget in my side bar and worked perfectly!
I want it below my post by my share buttons but I don't have a long time right now
Just discoverd this plugin and it really is simple and easily hackable. Thanks to the coders!
This plugin gives a perfect base for your printed pages.
I hope for the following features :
- option to open print view in a new window
- option to skip preview page and print directly
- possibility to cleanly override the output template for print_link()
For the default plugin css, you already can override the plugin's one width a css in your theme file.
Great work, thanks !
