I wanted to rewrite a custom post type permalink that would include a taxonomy term (www.site.com/custom-post-type/term/postname) but I was unable to make it work. I tried bits and pieces of code I found on StackExchange but none worked 100%.
I found this plugin and after activating it and updating the permalink structure for my post type, my permalink structure worked like a charm!
Archive pages for post and taxonomy work also.
Not sure what I did is correct, but both my CPT and the taxonomy have the same slug in the rewrite rule.
this is very useful plugin.
I am to clumsy to get the add_rewrite_rule correct and therefore using this plugin.
It works like a charm as long you keep "on the road".
I wanted the html extension but in back-end(Dashboard) it strips the dot.(could also just be me but still not so nice)
Solved it by hardcoding my cpt's and now it works like a charm, thank you.
This plugin saves literally hours of time depending on the size and complexity of your site. I'd be lost without it.
I tried to use this permalink:
But whenever I click the update button, it goes like this:
The %ca strips out! What is going on??????????
I want to show the PARENT CATEGORY AND THE SUB CATEGORY ON THE LINKS PLEASE
I just could not figure out how to get %category% in custom post type rewrite no matter what i did. Tried the other plugin and it didnt work.
This one OTOH simply worked. Thanks.
Work like charm. Thanks!
I have tried many plugins to customize my CPT permalinks but none of them give you the ability to remove the cpt_slug. I have found many discussions on the topic with tones of codes to try out. This plugin was the only stable solution.
Just be aware that you can generate some conflicts with WP standard post and pages. I had to clean up my DB to prevent some 404.
