The WP Mobile Detector mobile plugin automatically detects over 5,000 mobile devices and displays a compatible mobile theme.
It helps me to make site mobile friendly according to google's policies. you can check here https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fthescrutinizer.net
this site was not mobile friendly before using this plugin. but now it is..
Thank you so much to developers of this site.
I find this a very good plugin, it completely converted my website (http://opistobranquis.info/en) in a mobile site in no time. I had to adapt several things because it displays no widgets, but the theme menu transformation is great, and had no compatibility problems with other plugins, but one named Zotpress to manage bibliographic references, since last security updates in Zotpress seem to clash with WP Mobile Detector. Hope this will be solved. However, keep up good work !
When installing plugin first at all I though it was quite good. But managed to use it only for 1 month because it gives more errors then actually works. One of the worst things, all the sudden it may display mobile version for desktop users and I lost quite many visitors because of that. Looks like plugin is not developed any more also support somewhat non existent
P.S looks like it is a time to say AMEN to this plugin.
Changing my rating to 1 star
Is there any option in this theme to allow users to go to desktop theme any time?
I really dig the new theme, WZ mobile! Plus there are others to choose from as well.
easiest thing to do to get my site good on mobile phone. thought i'd have trouble with my other plugins, but was easy and no troubles. highly encourage use
was grateful at how simple was for me to use since I didn't need anything special but to show a mobile website on my phone, and was glad this tool did not over complicate it.
Has no effect except for breaking the admin dashboard rendering it useless. No useful instructions found, once enabled it has to me manually disabled by editing the database as the dashboard is effectively gone.
Also, having read the comments about unexpected (unwanted) ads and opened up the themes to see code I have decided to bin it for good.
Better luck next time - though there won't be a next time for me.
Not only did it not work, it has caused my blog page to disappear and it's put several lines of code visible to all on my other pages at the top of the pages. This plugin is a disaster. Now I need to pay my consultant to fix this mess.
