WP-Members™ is a free membership management framework for WordPress® that restricts content to registered users.
This is a great plugin. I have been using it for a couple of years for managing websites for local clubs. It is relatively simple to use and is expandable with additional scripts that Chad documents well on his blog. He also responds to the support forum surprisingly promptly and clearly.
I have looked at almost every Membership plugin for a simple task of moderating and blocking pages. This is the best one I've come across. I didn't have any issues or bugs and it doesn't interfere with my wp-admin log in when I want to make changes to my design. Thank God!
This is one of the obligatory plugins for wordpress. Even there is room for enhancements.
Have been using this plugin for nearly a year. It does everything we need it to do for our organization: Online member registration; membership database collection/maintenance; PayPal integration and dues tracking, etc. It fully integrates with other plugins we use such as Event Espresso. When members register for events their registration form is automatically populated with data collected from the membership database. Slick!
Had a problem with the plugin after we moved the site to a new server. Even though it wasn't a defect with the plugin, Chad helped us track the issue down so we could tell the hosting company what to do to fix it. How's THAT for customer service?!!
Remember to block the post, add the 'more' tag, and manually add your excerpt in screen options!
I can't really fault WP-Members, it works really well and is very easy to configure and tweak. The pluggable functionality, in particular, is excellent - making it very easy to extend to your needs.
I had installed this tool on WP 3.8.1, and have used it (along with their User List add-on)... and I'm now on WP 3.9.
In addition to being a solid plugin (with an excellent array of options to provide solid flexibility to different scenarios), the support has been excellent.
I've asked a couple of questions and had an issue (self-induced) that they quickly diagnosed and answered.
This is exactly the plugin which I was looking for...
You really saved my time.
I looked at a number of the membership management plugins. I wanted to be able to record custom fields in the member record and easily report on the status of the member base. Some member management systems serialize their data which requires more effort when wanting to view or export the member list. WP-Members uses the WordPress user and usermeta tables. You can view and export their contents using the standard user management functions of WordPress. The basic documentation that you get when downloading the free version is good, but the members-only documentation is much better, worth the $47.
I have been looking for at least two years for a plugin that will make only certain pages or posts on my site available ONLY to those who are logged into my website. THIS IS THE PLUGIN I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!
Thank you thank you thank you so much for making this plugin! It's easy to use and I have so much control over my content.
