A really good plugin, easy to use for non-technical users and easy to integrate into custom themes by developers. The support system is excellent and they are happy to help no matter what the issue.
Although I initially faced a couple of technical problems, customer support was really excellent. They did more than I expected.
Nice plugin and excellent support
WP Live Chat Support is really great to use. It's one of the few that actually nails it, and it's different in the way that it displays the chat feed. Pinned to the side of the window, it allows for a full view of the conversation, something that other live chat/support plugins are catching on to lately.
I've been able to customize it fully without any poorly-written code getting in the way.
Bonus: no '!important' declarations! ANYWHERE! The plugin devs obviously value well-written code and know what NOT to do... I'm looking at you... yeah, you know who you are... writing that nasty code that makes absolutely no logical sense whatsoever.
I would encourage those who use this plugin to fork over the extra couple of bucks for the Pro version and extensions. They really come in handy and make the plugin a full-featured, well-rounded choice for chatting quickly and painlessly with potential customers right from your website. Having the chats occur right from your WordPress Dashboard—rather than some 3rd party website—is honestly the most organized way of doing things.
I didn't get the Cloud Server extension, but it seems like the smart thing to do: store your chat data externally for safe-keeping, protecting it all with SSL. Apparently there's a nice performance boost, too.
All in all, after surveying the options out there for this sort of functionality (and believe me... I searched high and low, and tried at least a dozen options), WP Live Chat Support offers the best bang for the buck (FREE!) and they execute on it very, very well. Kudos to Code Cabin for producing a best-of-breed plugin for WordPress!
Bought the pro version. Had a small issue with the program but got help straight away. Very pleased with the program and the customer service.
Purchased this plugin several months ago. Worked perfectly out of the box. A month into it, I had a small issue with the registration code. Nick, responded back promptly and the problem was resolved.
Had another problem a day or so ago. Emailed Nick back, within an hour of my email, he responded back with a solution to my problem.
Two support issues, two problems taken care of the first email to each problem.
Support don't get any better than this folks. If you're looking for a live chat plugin for your WordPress website. Get this one.. I will never use another one as long as Nick is around to support it.
Our company hasn't had a chance to put the plugin entirely through its paces yet, but so far we like what we see.
On the plus side:
WP Live Chat Support is easy to set-up and the interface is both clean and easy to understand. We an international company with (currently) 4 languages being spoken in the office. The more intuitive something is, the better.
The chat box is unobtrusive. Many sites that I've visited have a big chat box that pops up and gets in my way. WP-LCS is easy to spot, but doesn't get in the way of the browsing experience.
WP-LCS is very full-featured. While many of those are restricted to the pro version, it's very "open" about which features are in the free version and which are in the pro version. While we purchased the pro version (see below), the free version still is still enough to meet the need of most small companies.
The easy-to-use interface (particularly the "who's viewing" and history sections) will be a huge help to our sales and support teams.
Because we're an international company, language support is important to us--particularly Chinese. WP-CLS had no problems with the Chinese characters, nor with switching back and forth between languages.
On the minus side:
This might be a conflict with our theme, but in the "Modern" theme, there is no "placeholder text" in the initial boxes (name and e-mail), and when typing into them, the text is mostly obscured. Only the bottom few pixels of the letters can be seen. Switching to the "Classic" theme took care of that problem.
The only real issue we had was with payment. A couple issues caused problems. On the plus side, however, after contacting WP-CLS staff about these problems, they quickly replied and resolved them to our satisfaction. They were quite friendly and professional about everything.
While there were a couple minor bumps along the way, our experience, overall, has been a good one. We look forward to putting the pro version through its paces.
I have been using WP Live Chat for almost a year now and I can't say enough about it. I love the custom features and ease of use and most especially the incredibly responsive support team. They have a customer for life right here. Awesome job WP Live Chat!
The best plugin that I found. The best thing is that it is very easy to implement Chat links in different places, so I have it in my menu, footer and pages. The support for this plugin is amazing, I received replies within 1 working day. I recommend this plugin to anyone.
