This could be a very useful tool but currently it seems to work in HTML editing mode rather than WordPress editing. If a page you edit has content that comes from, say a shopping cart plugin with a short code like:
[ mycart:id:1:end ]
the editor replaces that short code with the generated HTML content. This breaks the function of the other plugin. As it is, this plugin is off limits on my sites.
I guess everybody will need this editor to make working with wp more effective. Another aspect is that especialy people that are not used to work with backends will be lucky that they dont need to switch between front end Backend. less is more. I've seen older version of this plugin as well and I guess You are on the right way. Less options more clearity...
The best I found since years
Tough this is in early development beta stage, I'm not going to use it until the full release on my production site as I use WordPress MU. But I'm really exited to see this plugin as a core functionality of future WordPress.
This is my most expecting plugin of 2014.
Great work. I must say.
Only alternative is edituswp.com which costs over 100$ or waiting for frontkit.io
Hope to see this make it's way into core in the not too distant future
WordPress has long needed this functionality in this way, so well thought out and well made.
Still missing some little things (featured image does not appear on the frontend editor, for example), but overall the performance is fantastic. I was looking for a way to write straight from the frontend like you do on Medium, and this has almost the same benefits.
it is good idea but the plugin seems to have bug, it loads wrong post for editing when I hit the edit button .. and shows wrong categories and slug... and there seems no way to edit images or create gallery....
Great on Pages and Post. Really intuitive and slick. It would it be great if it did Custom Post Types too. Love it - well done.
