Love WP-Filebase!

Love WP-Filebase. Easiest to use.

Updates and Support are bad!
By , for WP 4.4.2

The new Version did not work with WordPress 4.4.2
There is no Support!

Completely broken
By , for WP 4.3.1

Uploads do not work. Completely broken, total waste of time. No word from the author in forums that I could find, nor workarounds from anyone else.

FTP sync is broken
By , for WP 4.3.1

FTP synchronizing is broken and the support is very quiet.
Such a pity, because this used to be a very good and useful plugin.

Plugin is okay, support is terrible
By , for WP 4.3.1

This plugin is really disappointing.

We thought it would be good choice and also purchased the pro version.

The main reason for my poor review is:

  • Bad support, even for users with pro version (main reason).
  • Very slow development resulting in a quite confusing interface and usability, missing features... (at least it looks like the author made some money from it)

I still give 3 stars, as the plugins overall feature available and quite well working main purpose.

Pretty good, found issue that could be better

When enqueueing the css, Filebase stores the absolute url to the css file in the database. It doesn't use WordPress's site url setting/option. Because of this, migrating the site can break the css. I'd suggest that the developers simply go in and change that so that it enqueues the script using a relative link, or at least uses the WordPress site url or site address option.

Very useful

Very versatile and useful if you know what you want it for. Making files and lists of files available to users with permissions.

Good plugin but can't get any support
By , for WP 4.3.1

Like the plugin. I even upgraded to the paid version. But I'm having a problem with the thumbnail image not being created (leaving a ?) when I upload using the widget. I've contacted support several times over a month but can't get any response from them at all. Not very impressed, particularly after paying. So I advise caution: looks like maybe the developer is no longer supporting this.

Worked

A little tricky if you want the upload directory to be the same as the download directory.....remember to turn off direct link protection.

Great Plugin, but Support and updates non-existant
By , for WP 4.2.4

Having paid $59 for a pro version, I expect some real support. Obviously the developer is out of business, since he does not respond to various help requests (not just from me, from anybody).

No responses on his support board, and a lot of people are complaining.

It is a shame, it is a very good plugin, but at this point I cannot recommend using it, since it will eventually break due to Word Press upgrades, and not be updated.
