WP eCommerce is a free, powerful plugin that empowers you to sell anything online, quickly and easily.
After reading all of the reviews this plugin looked great. I installed it and set up my store easy.
Then I noticed the problems. I could no longer view the pages on my site from the wp admin page, the site timed out. I verified that the problem had a direct correlation to this plugin being activated. When the plugin was deactivated I could edit/view the pages on my site from the admin page ... when the plugin was activated the site timed out when I attempted the same action.
I sent an email, via the plugins website asking for assistance. I've never heard back. After further reading I'm not alone in encountering the 'special features' of this plugin.
WP e-Commerce made lots of promises but delivered on very few. Digital downloads did not work at all and there is next to none support available, not even paid support. User forums some help but not much. Very disappointed!!
the plugin author write a warn post after creating my post to post issue on their own site instead of here.
This is a fully cheat. They made plugin but not gave support here. They should provide help to people who use them or trust their software.
Edit on 14 July 13.
This developer never provide support or anything to help the user. They demand more and more money by threat the user about the blah blah.
If you impelement this script you find bunch of security hole. If you pay that developer they will cheat you more.
Before start using this plugin Call the idiot guys who made it. Don't blame me that I not tell you about this. People not write in this comment because they have cheated and have a bunch of big site and he can afford it. Who can afford idiot to pay lot of $.
Shame on WordPress to approve this plugin. How you can call it free :(
It's a good thing I installed this on a fresh test site...
I tried to set a few options such as Target Countries, placement of $ symbol and another yes/no option that I can't remember but it was on the same options page as the aforementioned. I just was not able to "set" these options..either the UI didn't work, i.e, couldn't "Select" target countries, the yes/no option...is that a checkbox or radio button or what?...and for the $ sign...no visible UI element to enable/disable...
Anyway I decided to deactivate & delete...that seemed to work but I was left with 10 - 15 e-commerce tables in the database as well as multiple post and pages...
I then discovered the Nuke'm tool "WP e-Commerce - Store Toolkit" and re-installed e-commerce so that I could use this tool to completely wipe out the infection...but alas...it helped some...but there are still artifacts leftover in the database...
Ouch...glad it was a fresh test installed site...
I suppose the lesson is: from now own, always install ANY plugin in a new fresh-test site and then uninstall the plugin to see if any artifacts are left behind...and if there is any other damage...
Like the others said, lots of glitches and problems. Unforgivable amounts.
I have wasted countless hours fixing bugs in this plugin. Just yesterday I was notified of an issue with a website with wpec 3.9. Hours later, I find the bug in wpec core code. Just to be sure, I downloaded the latest version, 3.9.5. It contains the same bug. I am *not* describing what the bug is--I refuse to do unpaid QA/code maintenance for getshopped.org. I tried the Support > Jobs link in getshopped.org site, figuring they could use my services, and guess what? The page doesn't exist.
was a big fan of this plugin when it first came out.
sad to have to report that i always have problems when upgrading.
hope they get their act back together.
with the new version 126.96.36.199 google merchant cannot get the feed not at all. The version 188.8.131.52 google do not reconize weight.
I am coming back 184.108.40.206 w!th WP 3.5 and then all re-work correctly.
Horrible, horrible documentation, don't even think about using this if you're a user without any WordPress knowledge and just want a easy to install and implement plugin.
After trying to make the thing work with a custom theme, I gave up. There are pretty much a lot of other better E-Cart/Commerce plugins out there that don't make you shred your hair follicles as much as this.
I'm pretty sure they made the documentation cluttered and hard to read so they can earn money through "1-on-1 Premium Support", which costs you $47 a QUESTION. Yes, that's right. ONE support question costs you $47 before your shop even sees a sale.
Online help is limited as well because nobody (except the developers) know how to use the plugin themselves.
Just because they have lots of downloads doesn't mean they're going to be good (that's what I found out, sadly).
This plugin has so many bugs. It loads unacceptably slowly. Incompatible with many other plugins. Avoid!
