I was able to fully optimize my site's databases with this plugin. Well done!

Moving a file that doesn't exist?
By , for WP 3.6.1

It wants me to move .htaccess to another folder because my back ups may be public. There is only one problem The file doesn't exist in the directory it is insisting the file is in.

I deleted the plug in. I'll find something else.

I've used this plugin for years. Never had any problems. Easy to set up, easy to use. Gives you an important extra security. It also allow you to do serious experiments since you can easily backup your database and equally easily restore it back.
Just hope Lester Chan will continue his maintenance.

Simple, Convenient and Flawless

This plugin works as told by author. It is easy to set up and apart from one small one-time hassle(moving .htaccess file), everything is great.

Won't Back Up
By , for WP 3.5.2

After figuring out the database paths for Godaddy and getting green ready to back up, the first backup didn't backup correctly and subsequent attempts resulted in "could not back up the database" despite the plugin seeing all the tables in the database. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any troubleshooting info via Google and my password doesn't have a $ character as one thread suggests may be the problem. This plugin is no longer supported by the author so I removed it after tinkering with it a couple hours.

How does malware get into the backups?
By , for WP 3.5.1

I have used this plugin for a long time. Recently I installed the Wordfence Security plugin also. However the scans indicate that there are several malicious urls in the database backups of WP DBmanager. I definitely did not put them on my site, and they only show up in the db backups. So I suspect that those malicious files somehow find their way into the db backups via some vulnerability. If I ever had to reinstall the database, I imagine I would have some nasty links on my site. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
