Move or copy a WordPress site to another server or to another domain name, move to/from local server hosting, and backup sites.
No problem with server, php version or others.
Is the best solution I've found so far to migrate a site.
Thank you very much!
I spent roughly 8 hours on a saturday working (and re-working) Updraftplus. As a backup tool it's fine but as a cloning tool (excuse my french) it sucks and the way they set up their paid add-on workflow is SHADY. I wound up paying $60 for a solution that never worked and because of their small print am likely to not get a refund.
Whoever is reading this: if you are considering cloning your site for testing purposes, etc. DO use WP Clone and stay away from the paid plugins. They might have 5 stars and hundreds of thousands of downloads but, compared to WP Clone, are obnoxiously convoluted and laiden with ways to soak you for more cash.
5 stars for WP clone. You saved my Sunday :)
Two steps. That's it. Awesome!
This plugin had a lot of promise.. and it worked for a while for a few people. But as of August 2013 it appears the developers have abandoned both the code and the support forum. No response from them for many weeks and no corrective action to problems reported.
Let the buyer beware!
I installed WP Clone on a live site using WP 3.3.1 and was able to copy the entire site to an installation on localhost in just a few minutes. The process was extremely simple. This is an excellent plugin!
I did experience just one issue with Contact Form 7, however. An error message was displayed and the site did not display correctly until I deactivated that plugin. I removed the Contact Form 7 plugin and then installed the latest version and the site is now working perfectly in its offline location on localhost.
I then did a manual upgrade of WP to version 3.5.2, and I also updated all of my other plugins. Again, all is working perfectly. WP Clone allowed me to copy my entire organizational website to the offline location to test these upgrades. It's a great tool ... a first class plugin!
This plugin is super awesome. It beats downloading a copy via Dreamweaver FTP because it keeps a copy of all the backup that was created. Makes cloning from dev to live site real easy! Thanks for creating this!
This plugin makes moving a website to another host easier to use than almost all of the commercial plugins as well as the top free downloads like Duplicator and WP Move -- which are excellent in their own right.
The key here to use this plugin is that you must set up your NEW SERVER first with a pre-existing WordPress installation
as you need this plugin on both the site to be cloned as well as the Target server... url domain name does not matter.
You don't even need to upload a installation script to the new server or use FTP believe it or not. These guys have made the entire process totally painless with just a few clicks and URL links. Virtually fool proof! Great Job !!! Tested and works fine with WP 3.6+ and latest PHP 5.2 and 5.3 Bravo! The ONE Stars reviews must be have some serious hosting issues. Worked fine on LINUX based shared hosting servers. Clearly this is a superior solution for developers who want an alternative to a >$100 / Yr commercial plugin.
I would like thanks who made it. I was suffering from the last one month and I am new in wordpress but that really help and configured with no time and accurately. I never put reviews before but you deserve it even or If there is more then rating 5.0, I definitely give you.
At the beginning i couldn't Restore Backup from given link, then, i downloaded database and uploaded to new site (there where i wanted to migrate my wp site) under the same folder
wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/, so at the new site i choose Restore Backup from this fresh uploaded database and it worked! I just had to re-upload and activate plugins (they were missign i don't know why).
Finally..!! The perfect backup, restore, and migrate solution. Tried them all and WO Clone is by far the best option for everything we need.
Thanks SOOO Much!
