I was using the free version for a while and was sold on how easy this was to use.
I have a large website and this program downloaded it in 30+ minutes. I then downloaded those files to my external hard drive, the way I prefer instead of on someone else's hard drive . I checked out some of the files and it looked like everything was there. I have now purchased the Personal license and did have a small problem in my account setup. Chris Simmons came to my rescue and fixed the problem. I had a few back and forth emails with Chris and he always answered in a reasonable time frame.
Reason I switched to the pay version is in case I ever have to restore my site I don't want to do it manually.
So far I'm very satisfied on how this program works and with the support.

I have tried a few backup plugins and had issues with most of them. Some of them failed to backup, some of them didn't do everything I wanted. This one worked the way I wanted right out of the box. I use the scheduled backups feature to run an automated backup every day and love it. I haven't had to restore my site yet but having the backups around makes me feel safe just in case.
I am a designer and use this plugin for all of my customer sites. I love it because it saves me so much time when migrating customer sites from my development/staging server to the live server.

Sounds great, right? Fast forward to checkout, where you must check a box indicating that you "Agree to our license terms and refund policy". The terms aren't shown, but you can click on a link to view them. But why bother? They promised a 30 day risk free, no questions asked refund!
WRONG! Click that link and read the terms, and suddenly the rules change:
Before a refund will be granted, you must allow us to try and help solve any problem you have by opening a support ticket. NOTE: refunds will not be granted if you simply decide not to use the purchased products. Does that sound like "no questions" to you? There are a lot of reasons you might decide you don't like a product. Among them would certainly be that you have to rely on their tech support to "solve any problem you have." It's supposed to be quick and easy and trouble free. For $100 a year, I don't want to have to deal with tech support, I want it to work! If it doesn't, OK, it's not a perfect world, but that's certainly enough reason for me to say "no thanks", but they say no, that's not good enough to get a refund, you have to let us try to figure out why our great software doesn't work on your server!
Oh yes, did you notice, I said $100 per year? The fact that the license must be renewed every year is disclosed if you read the FAQ. But do you always read the FAQ before you buy software? Or would you be inclined to think that when it says "software updates for a year" means that after a year, you won't get updates, but that you can continue to use the software?
A neophtyte user, I was attempting a backup before upgrading to WP 4.4 from 4.3.1 and the backup kept hanging up. I appealed to support for help. They responded within hours with things to try and over the next few days were continually in touch until my issue was resolved. The instructions they gave me were always clear and at a technical level I could easily follow. iPage support was involved and also helpful. Thank you Chris and Jeremy. I never felt that uncomfortable "what do I do now" feeling.
