We are using Yoast Seo plugin for our new wordpress website. However, when we try to use wordpress wp_mail in the code for sending email, it conflicts with Yoast Seo plugin, wp_mail will send out 3 duplicated emails. When we deactivate Yoast Seo plugin, then the wordpress wp_mail will function properly sending out only 1 email.
How do you resolve this issue ?
I don't get why this has had to happen. Yoast used to be a neat SEO plugin that just worked. Since the update to version 3.0 (and ever since, currently 3.7) it is simply one huge annoyance. Yoast SEO slows down longer pages so much that it becomes impossible to edit texts. The plugin causes constant trouble with my Divi and Extra themes. A dozen times a day I need to deactivate the Yoast plugin to be able to edit pages. Otherwise the Divi builder won't show up.
Please, people, do yourself a big favor and avoid Yoast in its current state. It's absolutely terrible.
Please see this forum discussion which explains what's happening. If you're having similar problems, please report them on the forum . . . just maybe, Yoast will see it and figure out a solution!
After testing, it seems clear that this is an issue with Yoast SEO 3.x, not with other plugins, themes, WP versions, or hosting.
Revert to previous versions here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/developers/
Older versions were amazing compared to this...
This is a great plugin! It has some great features right out of the box and I use it on every site I build.
The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star rating is all the notifications they shove down your throat. I completely understand the need to give the user notifications that things have changed. But after I click the dismiss icon, I don't want to see the message anymore. Instead it will continue to appear on ever page load until you click the link to check out all the new features they have added. Please, if I click the dismiss button it means I don't want to see the notification anymore. And more importantly I don't want my clients getting confused and calling me asking why there are notifications on their screen and why they are there.
But again, aside from that annoying feature this is a great plugin!
like I said, the goods
Working within the editing fields is utterly aggravating. Clearly a case of over-designing at the expense of usability. I hope you fix it soon.
Before the last release, we were able to choose a keyword, title and description for each translated page using WPGlobus. Now the new SEO yoast only allows 1 keywrod, 1 title and 1 description to be used for the original language all of the translated pages. :-( This does not help SEO.
I use your plugin on on the websites I develop. Keep up the good work!
I build and manage a fair few WordPress websites and I install Yoast SEO on all of them. It's easy to use, reliable and it actually improves my ranking. I'm not exactly sure what all the negativity is about, because Yoast has fixed most of the major issues that came with the 3.0 release. I enjoy the interface for adding meta tags and the settings are very well organised. Thanks for writing this fantastic plugin.
