3.0.6 problems
By , for WP 4.4

Updated AGAIN the other day...and am now seeing this...
The focus keyword doesn't appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.(it is there)
Bad SEO scoreYou have not used your focus keyword in any subheading (such as an H2) in your copy.(it is there)
Bad SEO score The keyword density is 0%, which is a bit low; the focus keyword was found 0 times.(it is there)
Ok SEO score the images on this page do not have alt tags containing your focus keyword.(it is there)
and on and on and on...this is a train wreck.

Not sure whats going on, but these updates for the last few weeks have been very problematic. We have cleared cookies and all that to no avail.

You Killed a Good Plugin
By , for WP 4.3.1

I used this plugin and recommended it to everyone in blog posts. I installed it into client websites and blogs and spent time teaching them how to use it

The latest update is total garbage. Now, I have to upload an older version and tell all clients not to upgrade it.

That's my workaround for now, until I decide what SEO plugin I'm going to use in the future.

Yes, writing this post because I'm angry about it. it's their plugin. They can do as they please. But, as it is with the latest version, it's worth just 1 star.

Nobody likes their time wasted, sending STUPID message telling me my site is not indexed, I checked the

Discourage search engines from indexing this site

setting on Reading menu and it is FINE.

To out and out LIE to people just damages your reputation, you are NO LONGER TRUSTED, everything you say now is a lie.

Yoast sends out this message via the TRUSTED wordpress admin (WordPress should ban the plugin until this has ben removed)

Here is the message you should ignore (I replaced the site name with "your website":

"Yoast SEO has detected that your website can no longer be indexed. Please note that this will make it impossible for search engines like Google and Bing to index your site. Read more about this error on our knowledge base.

It is also dumb dumb dumb to send people to a page that will not load

The email includes this spam link

which resolves to

which says more lies

Your site isn't indexable

If Yoast SEO reports your site as not indexable by search engines, this can be caused by several reasons. At the same time, it's an issue of the highest priority, assuming that you want your site to be in Google's index.

Our best advice is to use the "Analyze entire site" button, create an account on OnPage.org and see what they have to tell you. It could be that you have a robots.txt file that's blocking indexation, it could be that your theme has some code in it that's blocking search engines, etc. etc. OnPage.org can tell you what the problem is and how to fix it!

Anyone that is prepared to build a marketing campaign on LIES is simply not trustworthy, it is also a breach of CanSpam and Data Protection Laws as this marketing message had no unsubscribe. If you report it as spam you could be reporting your own domain.

I am now looking for an alternative to Yoast and I urge WordPress.ORG to ban this plugin until it honors the use of Admin messaging for genuine admin purposes.

If Yoast had wanted to email me and say

"hey buddy, thanks for using our plugin, this is a one off message to invite you to join our marketing newsletter where you can get great tips on how to optimize your site"

Then fine, the law of reciprocity would have probably got me to sign up, but I do not like being misled and lied to.

3.0 and 3.01 are a disaster. Do Not Update!
By , for WP 4.3.1

Great plugin until this 3.0 re-incarnation. It really is a complete disaster on so many fronts. Thank goodness for WP Rollback to get me back to an operational version, quickly.

3.01 Rubbish Breaks Everything
By , for WP 4.3.1

Why would you do this to the most beloved plug-in on WordPress. The back-end makes no sense anymore.
When I first updated I thought Google or Bing had some major changes to there algorithm (No). This is just a cynical attempt to get user details via a over priced service called OnPage.org which is next to useless, and is solely designed to fool less knowledgeable user into believing there have to sign-up to this, when there are much better services out there for FREE. you can not even turn it off.

I do not begrudge anyone for wanting to make as much money as possible, but this not is under handed on all levels, if I could a review lower than 1 Star it still would be a too higher score.

New UX confusing
By , for WP 4.3.1

Just a quick question - where on earth has the Meta description field gone on posts? I can't find the ability to add the same kind of info anywhere.

Do Not Update to 3.0.1
By , for WP 4.3.1

Just updated to 3.0.1 and now my Yoast SEO is broken. The new look itself is fine but Focus Key Words will not save, the real time analysis never works, blue bar forever.

There is no longer any metedata box and the snippet editor does not auto populate your title.

To the author who is brilliant...please fix our favourite plugin. We can't disable all our plugins to try and see if this makes it work again.

Not compatible with chrome and IE anymore, break the media library
By ,

After updating to 3.0.1, the media library is not working at all anymore !
I had to disable yast SEO to make wordpress usable again.

So wait before update !

Such a pity !

Awful update
By , for WP 4.3.1

Please be warned when updating to 3.0. It seems I'm not the only one having issues. In my case, it caused heavy conflicts.

Tried to deactivate every single plugin except Yoast and still had issues, so the only thing left to think about was Yoast entering in conflict with my wordpress theme (LOL!). I wasn't able to add Ratings to my posts, add links, or many other things. This didn't happen with Yoast 2.3.5.

Also, the Yoast snippet box appeared totally empty and I wasn't able to edit any SEO or add any SEO to my posts. I was completely disabled.

So all I did was a rollback to version 2.3.5, and everything is working perfectly now. Don't update untill they come with a trustful solution. They should be warned by now that something isn't working.

P.S: Version 2.3.5 is pure gold :)
