I've been using Yoast SEO for as long as I can remember. I've personally installed this plugin on over 100 custom themes without any complaints or issues. Prior to a site launch, it was a mandatory installation and my clients loved the ease and flexibility the plugin offered.
With this latest update I'm not sure what to think anymore - so many questions run through my head when I see the new design and UX of the plugin.
I will continue to use the plugin (Version 2.3.5 ) with the hope that things will get straightened out sooner than later.
I wish you guys the best of luck with this sh** storm :)
Constantly getting an error message "Your homepage cannot be indexed by search engines. This is very bad for SEO and should be fixed." Please fix it.
Lots of changes recently, integrations with onPage, changes to the plugin, but also some new features. It does feel a bit bloated, and the changes aren't that effective, but lets see where the devs take it
Seriously! Whats the matter with the developers? What the hell is this stoplight design element BS?
All the Meta description GUI is completely screwed up. This Plugin is completely USELESS unless they fix this massively broken code.
but recently my meta descriptions and titles somehow got lost. I see many others are having problems with the last update but i see no acknowledgement by yoast. bad practice.
Not sure what happened with this new version... all the great features and functionality from older versions are GONE, unless you BUY the "Yoast SEO Premium" ?
Content analysis doesn't show anything, neither does the snippet editor.
Disappointing. Definitely NOT updating my other websites with this latest version!
I agree with the people above, this new version is broken. I installed it on quite a few sites and more often than not it fails to recalculate the scoring. I'm also horrified to read above that it seems to be mutating to Spyware. I have deactivated it until these issues are resolved!
I have use the free version and it worked very well. With the new version 3 and the new design, my site were messed up by install. If you take care off your websites, dont install this crap.
I use to be a fan of Yoast but these last updates were horrific. I tested on a staging server of course and it broke everything. I coded my own simple solution and was able to get off Yoast.
The reason I give this plugin a 1 star is because
1. There is so many bugs in new updates its not even possible to have a functional site.
2. Updates bad as this with over 1 million active installs shows a lack of concern for the end user installing the plugin. Seems your "testing" doesn't work that well.
3. Injecting Yoast in the meta markup is not cool and not having an opt out option is ridiculous. I saw someone bring this up and Yoast shot them down immeditaely defending his hidden backlink.
4. Apparently this plugin phones home with 3rd party and doesn't let end user know or have option to opt out. This should be opt in feature.
Half way through setting up my site I installed and activated the plugin. Wiped out half of my images and skewed the layout. Thank God I was only half done with my site.
