Home page no longer indexed; had to deactivate
By , for WP 4.4

Wish this has worked for me- first time using it and was so impressed. However, as soon as plugin was activated my home page was no longer indexable. Don't know how or where to change code, so for now I just cannot use this plug in. As soon as I deactivated it, everything was working fine again.

Yikes! What did you do to my favorite plugin?
By , for WP 4.3.1

Updated recently and had to immediately revert to an older version as my content editors were breaking all over the admin area. Came back a couple weeks later and tried again, a bugfix had solved that problem I suppose, but I am extremely turned off by the changes in this 3x version. The SEO Title and Meta description fields being removed was a horrible choice... I get it, you can click right on the snippet preview to edit but that is not a functional improvement, it actually makes it more difficult to compose your title and description text than before. Such an unnecessary change where there was nothing wrong before. The overall appearance of the metabox is more intrusive and disturbs the aesthetic that I have always been a fan of in WordPress. SEO is meant to be an important aspect of my site but not a visually prominent one. I wonder about your QA process and design choices. For the first time after years of swearing by this plugin I am questioning using it on my sites at all.

New Plugin Update
By , for WP 4.3.1

Hi,

I want to tell that your new platform is really very bad.

The old one, was much simple and user friendly than this one.

Even the features were much better.

For example in the meta description I had a counter to see how much letters and words I could insert. Now I need to guess.

Well made

Pretty nicely made :)
Thanks !

Not a fan of the latest update
By , for WP 4.4

I really liked Yoast before, but I don't like this latest version nearly as much. When you finally figure out you have to click on the current meta description to create a new one, it turns the field into a blank (which means it deletes the content that was there already). What if I'd just wanted to tweak the existing meta description a bit I've lost the ability to do that in this version. And now, I have to create a meta description separately and then copy and paste it in, which takes extra time. Not idea.

Broken Meta Description & Focus Keyword
By , for WP 4.4.2

Hello,

I update the latest v3.1. And Quickly check the post option and I notice that The Snippet Preview work well But the Meta Description & Focus Keyword again not working.

Decide to RollBack v2.3.5 Is the Best Choice

Thanks

Worst Update Ever
By , for WP 4.3.1

After updating I'm unable to do the things that I used to do before because now I need to buy the premium plugin with an yearly subscription...Not happy.

Plus they made the whole interface uglier and messy..

Looking for an alternative!

New Yoast Format is Terrible
By , for WP 4.3.1

I think this plugin was fine the way it was. Now version 3.0.6. if you try and go in and change one word in the meta description area...all the verbiage just disappears and you have to start from scratch...That sucks. Its like you have to take a screenshot of your text prior to revising it or you have to rewrite the whole thing. Terrible format...

Question is is this just a Mac issue or are PC's like this too?

The plugin requires an alert to exclude the competitor "Sitemap XML Yoast"
By , for WP 4.3.1

Useful plugin but :

1) it always displays an alert that asks disable "Google XML Sitemaps" and replace with "XML Sitemap Yoast"
- Even if the alert is suppressed and that it disables Yoast option, it is always displayed.
- If you activate Yoast XML Sitemap, the Sitemap is not found in the Google tools
I do not like this way to exclude a competitor plugin

2) The new version 4.3.1 automatically updates the performance of SEO. It would be nice but it slows lot entering information.

Not compatible with ACF

I don't believe in all the 1 Star reviews been thrown up the past few days, I think they're more born out of frustration than anything else. Like many, I've been using Yoast SEO for years now and I've always had great results from it, especially from client-side perspectives.

Unfortunately, we use Advanced Custom Fields heavily in our development, and as of the most recent update to Yoast and NS Custom Fields for WordPress SEO don't seem to be working together, which is a shame.

Has there been any feedback on this?
